Dr. V. Sivakumar
Dr. Sivakumar is presently working as a Principal Technical Oficer in ES & EG Group at Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Govt. Of India. He received his Ph.D in Geology from Periyar University, Tamil Nadu, India. He received his Masters of Technology (M.Tech.) degree in Geological Remote Sensing & Geoinformatics at Bharathidasan University, Tamil Nadu, India and Masters of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Geology at University of Madras, India. Prior to C-DAC he was associated with Indian Space Research Organization – ISRO (NRSC) as a research fellow. He teaches & visits various academic & research institutes across the India. He has mentored various postgraduate and undergraduate students from multi-disciplinary fields. Dr. Sivakumar’s scientific accomplishment includes more than 30 journal publications, books and conference contributions. He is also associated with national/international professional bodies in various roles. He received many awards/honours such as Best Industrial Researcher, Young Scientist, Best Technological Research, Best Paper Publication, Research Fellowship, Merit Scholarship, etc. He is involved in many research & funded projects, business lead, project planning & designing, decision making and research project initiation with various roles. He is active member in various academic and research forums, including regional/associate editor, editorial board member, reviewer, etc. His research areas includes natural resource management, planetary science studies, remote sensing and GIS, computational sciences, high performance computing (HPC) - satellite data processing & information extraction, natural disaster management, etc.
